The operation “Phone Dealers” defeats a criminal group for weapon trafficking

 

On 10/02/2010, the Directorate Against Organized Crime in the Department of Crime Investigation of State Police, in cooperation with the Regional Police Directorate in Durres and the Public Prosecutors Office for Serious Crimes, have successfully completed the police operation “Phone Dealers”, in which framework was made possible the arrest in the act of the citizens:

1.     Kanan Tajar Xhakollari, 23 years old, resident in Durres,

2.     Lulzim Xhaferr Qamo, 28 years old, resident in Durres,

3.     Astrit Myqerem Zylyftari, 23 years old, resident in Durres, convicted before for the criminal act of “trafficking of narcotic substances” in Greece,

4.     Asllan Belul Plaku, 18 years old, resident in Durres.

The above-mentioned citizens have cooperated, by buying arms and munitions in order to traffic them to Greece. The realization of this operation was performed after the investigations carried out in cooperation with the Public Prosecutors Office for Serious Crimes in a relatively long time period.

During the investigation activities are sequestrated in the quality of material evidence the following arms:

1.      4 automatic fire arms, from which 3 are “Kalashnikov” and 1 “PMSH”

2.      As well as 2 fire arms pistols “TT”.

These citizens are part of a criminal group and in their criminal activity have collaborated also with the citizen Sotir Vasil Zako, 29 years old, born in Skrapar and resident in Durres, arrested a few days before in Gjirokaster.

During the control made in the residence of the citizen Sotir Zako are found and sequestrated also narcotic substances and blend of narcotic substances, respectively:

·        100 g Cocaine

·        And 30 kg Paracetamol and Lidocaine, which serve as blending substances of the narcotic substances such as cocaine and heroin.

After completing all the necessary investigation actions, the procedural materials in the charge of these citizens passed to the Public Prosecutors office for the Serious Crimes for the criminal acts of “Trafficking of military weapons and munitions” and “Holding of narcotic substances” provided by the Articles 278/a, 25 and 283 of the Criminal Code.
