Launching of the ceremony on handing the Certificate of Evaluation to Albania from SECI Center

SECI Center handed to State Police the Certificate of Evaluation as a gratitude for the very progressive outcomes State Police has achieved on law enforcement on the fight against inter-border crime. On 26 May, this Certificate of Evaluation was handed to the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Gjergj Lezhja, during the 23rd meeting of the Joint Management Committee of SECI.

 

SECI has evaluated the Counter-Organized Crime and Protection of Witnesses Directorate in particular, on the operational co-operation achieved.

 

“On the successful operation carried out to destroy criminal organizations incriminated in the trafficking of arms and explosives in the South East Europe”.   

 

On this occasion, at the grounds of Ministry of Interior was organized the ceremony of handing this certificate to State Police. This ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Interior Mr. Gjergj Lezhja; Director General of State Police, Leader Bajram Ibraj; Director of Counter-Organized Crime and Protection of Witnesses Directorate, Chief- Commissar Kostaq Beluri; Deputy-chairman of the Joint Management Committee of SECI, Mr. Agron Sojati, etc.

 

During the ceremony held on this occasion, Deputy Minister of Interior appraised the outcomes achieved by State Police in the fight against crime, and in particular the contribution given at the regional level concerning the fight against organized crime.

 

Mr. Lezhja appraised the role that the representative of Albania at SECI, Mr. Agron Sojati plays, who is at the same time Director of trafficking in arms task force at SECI.

 

At the meantime, Director General of State Police, Leader Bajram Ibraj affirmed that police structures will show the maximal commitment to fight crime without compromise.

 

SECI has frequently expressed its reference for the work done by State Police to fight the inter border crime and to co-operate in the operations coordinated from this Center and concretely:

 

-         On 9 February 2004 SECI appraised Albania for the outcomes achieved in the fight against trafficking in human beings, in the framework of the police operation “Mirazh 2003”. The Albanian experience was considered as the most positive experience one, in attacking and bringing the perpetrators of criminal offences to justice and also in confiscating assets derived from organized crime.

 

-         On 5 July 2004 the Police Station of the Sea Port in Durres received evaluations for the outcomes achieved in the fight against inter-border crime.

 

-          On 9 January 2006 State Police and Counter- Organized Crime and Protection of Witnesses Directorate received evaluations for the continuous efforts and contributions offered in the fight against the inter-border crime.
